A Warm Welcome to You.

Virtual Reality: Outsource to a Virtual Assistant.  Think outside of the box.

Virtual assistance is a wonderful reality these days given the tremendous advances in modern technology. It’s pretty good for the environment too.  It is not absolutely necessary to physically BE in the same room or building as your assistant for them to get a job done and dusted. Sure, trust is needed when you collaborate with a virtual assistant but with some common sense, basic ground rules trustworthy collaboration can be achieved by getting into a system of providing each other with regular work updates and goal setting through all the wonderful communication channels such as email, Skype, Twitter or Facebook or a mobile device.

Think outside of the box.

On-line and offline networking

Even though I work virtually, I do like to get out and about! Yes, all this social media thingamijiggy rocks and online networking is fab but it’s ever so nice to see real people every so often.  So, I attend networking events when time permits.  It’s great to be part of a network.  I currently organise a monthly brunch networking meeting, called Mums UnLtd for mums and children, the latter are welcomed but not compulsory.  We’re a friendly bunch.  Why don’t you join us?

I’ve got the Spanish Bug, have you?

I had a passion for it when I was a teenager and spent many hours conjugating all the verbs and absorbing the vocabulary. Whilst this route of parrot like learning has helped imprint many words and phrases on my brain, I, personally don’t recommend it and feel that language learning should and can be much more fun! Only French and German were the languages taught at my school, I had to beg for a teacher to come in and give me private lessons and this led to me feeling a bit of a freak and also, I can now admit that this teacher was very old and spent the vast majority of the lesson asleep!

Forward a couple of years and a trip to Spain, only to find that all that conjugation of verbs and vocabularly that I thought that I had mastered had vanished. Somehow my brain did not connect with my mouth. I was too embarassed to talk, lacked the confidence to speak for fear of sounding stupid and getting the grammar wrong.

Big mistake.

With language learning you have to let go of these emotions….as:

  • You’re going to sound stupid sometimes.
  • You’re going to make huge grammatical errors.
  • The natives are going to find your conversational expertise a little cumbersome and only slightly boring to begin with.
  • You’re going to get very frustrated.
  • You’re not going to be able to discuss global economics…just yet.
  • You’re going to have to be patient.
  • You WILL get there in your own time.

Stick with it as it’s a bug worth getting.  For more information about my Spanish services contact me.
